Water is an essential element to life on Planet Earth and this is one of the big themes in our six-part documentary series RACE 4 LIFE. Anglo- Canadian Rally driver Mark Jennings-Bates and British Motocross and Enduro champion Mick Extance have teamed up for the first time to take part in the Dakar 2011 endurance race. For Mick, it will be the first time he has taken part in this rally as a co-driver, instead of his usual motorcycle. The whole challenge will bring together a number of firsts. This is not just a race but also a bid to raise $4m for two charities Just A Drop and FeViva. The money will go towards helping children in places like the Sudan as well as putting in wells to make the access to water easier. Our documentary follows the challenge as they begin training for this gruelling 14 day race as well as putting together the elements needed to raise money for the two charities. One of those challenges will be the mini-rally between Team Bowler and a specially invited challenge team all in the name of the charities they support. Then comes the race itself and the quest for the finish line! This is definitely an adventure to share. More news coming soon. |
